Stacy and Amanda

Now this was a wedding with a story! It was set at the beautiful Kelowna Ranch Twin Creek. ( www.kelownaranch.com )A place with a no horizon pool and an absolutely breathtaking view. Perfect setting, perfect time of year. Except one minor set back ... August 14th there happened to be a torrential downpour of rain on and off all day... and when it was "off" it wasnt really "off" if you know what I mean.

The grass turned into a mudbath with a river running through it so we called All Occasions and they managed to get us a floor first thing in the morning! So we all got to work putting it together. It wasn't long before we all had mud up to our knees and were soaking from head to toe. We could hardly see ten feet infront of us from the clouds and rain nevermind the beautiful view the Ranch had to offer. But wouldn't you know it as the evening came the clouds finally cleared and you could see all the way to the lake. The sun came out from behind the clouds for a beautiful sunset photoshoot. It was a day to remember. We all looked like we had been through a tornado by the end but thats the beauty of a wedding planner... the bride never knew anything except that it was raining like crazy and by the time she got there it was all cleaned up and looked picture perfect.

Exquisite orchids from one end of the tent to the other. We had a blast designing this wedding as she gave us full creative freedom and left it all in our hands... our favorite ! When she first met with us she said she liked whites and creams with a touch of green. We added the brown to anchor the color and the gold chivari chairs for a touch of class. Even some soft yellow in the head table centerpiece to play off the bit of yellow in the phalenopsis orchids.

Tip #2: Its all in the details

Its the smallest details that add so much to a wedding. From the fold of your napkin to the font in your stationary. A good wedding planner will take all of these into consideration. Most importantly when it comes to detail put some money into your stationary. Beautifully designed stationary goes a long way. If your on a strict budget and don't have much money for decorations then its even more important your stationary is well done. It will give you that simplistic but classy without breaking the bank.

Ok, back to the wedding... theres one more color we added to the wedding that showed itself when the sun came down. It was beautiful and unexpected and brought a whole new element to the room. Almost making it feel like it was a completely different room with a few flicks of a switch.

I have to admit I didn't want to leave when the sun went down. I loved the blue and the contrast it brought to the head table arrangement. Not to mention how it made the chandeliers sparkle and the all the candle light look even the more striking.

Amanda and Stacy ... you were amazing to work with. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The freedom you gave us to create and do what we do best made your wedding so enjoyable from beginning to end. Thank you for putting your trust in us and allowing us the pleasure of being a part of your day. We wish you guys all the best in your future together.

Cheers!

This summer has been full of fantastic weddings. Some small, some large. Some simple, some extravagant. We've had a summer of creating and making visions come to life.

Simply put : We love what we do.

We started this blog to keep you updated on what we are doing, to post photos for you to enjoy and to share little tips along the way.
Heres a few pictures of a beautiful wedding we did earlier this year. Maybe this will inspire you for your big day or just some cheap entertainment to pass time. Either way... enjoy !

After speaking with Jessica it didn't take long to realize that she has a love for flowers and beautiful centerpieces. So we based our design on beautiful seasonal flowers. The centerpieces were filled with dalias, hydrangeas, roses, peonies etc. To add that 'pop' of color we added bright pink and height to her head table. (which was round by the way... perfect for those brides that don't like to be on display while munching on their salads) It was a beautiful wedding in every way. The bride was stunning, the sun was shinning and the reception decor... well, you know what we think on that! :)

Thanks Brian and Jessica for letting us make your vision a reality. You guys were fantastic to work with !

Lastly, a little imput from our years of experience ...

Tip #1 : Its all about you. If your not good at making decisions, nows the time to start. Before getting everyones advice on what colors you should have or what style the wedding should be pick up some magazines or spend some time on the computer. Pick out things that catch your eye ... wheather its in a good way or a bad way. Get a binder or a bag, whatever you have available, and start putting them all together. If you look closely there will most likely be a pattern. Not always but most of the time. Whether its colors you lean towards, short or tall centerpieces, pastels or brights... it will help determine which direction you are going in. It is also an excellent place for your wedding planner to start from ! ps. Being that its all about you we recommend meeting with your planner one-on-one first. It will help them getting a good idea of your personality and style rather then having a group of people with many differing opinions and personalities.

All the Best.
